Hi,
First of all, I really like what I see in Breevy - it seems to be properly throught through, runs fast and it's awesome to see that kind of development activity, with all these fast updates on user requests.
I'm working most of the time on my Macbook and use started using TextExpander for my job as we're moving towards a browser based support tool instead of using Thunderbird (with its Quicktext add-on). But there are times I'll be working on my PC or any other Windows PC (for which I really would love USB drive support in terms of flexibility to not have to install Breevy.
My main request is a way to use the abbreviations I created in TextExpander. I could do that manually, but it's not really practical to keep two data sets up to date at all times. I'm thinking here of exporting my current data set from TextExpander every time I made a couple of changes and then put it on my USB drive and / or Windows PC for importing in Breevy.
If I do make any changes within Breevy I would do that in a separate group and then just export that group with changes and import it to my TextExpander data set for syncing.
I understand that Breevy does have features, like the ability to create subfolders and being able to change the trigger default on a per abbreviation setting which could not be exported to TextExpander.
I don't know how doable this would be or if you would even consider such a function, but I would really appreciate it (even if it were to take time to get this feature done). Needless to say that this would instantly sell me on your product. ![]()
One additional smaller suggestion - would it be possible to define a shortcut to add a new abbreviation based on selected text or text in the clipboard? And maybe also a shortcut for enabling / disabling Breevy
Thanks again for all the hard work you put into the program so far.
Cheers,
Sebastian

Thanks so much for the kind words!

Amazing timing. I'm actually already in the process of looking for Mac for that very purpose... so I can create a TextExpander importer for Breevy.
I will let you know as soon as this feature has been added. ![]()

Yes, this is a great idea and I was actually already planning on adding this in a future release. I'll let you know when I add this as well.

Oh, by the way, I know you requested that hotkey for enabling and disabling Breevy. That hasn't been added yet (still planning on it), however I forgot to mention that if you hold in the Ctrl key and then press Breevy's system tray icon, that will toggle it on/off.
If Breevy is disabled the icon will be all gray, by the way.

TextExpander integration is a godsend! It is fantastic to be able to use my existing snippets on the work PC as well as on my home machine.
TextExpander now has the ability to store its snippets using DropBox. Would it be possible that Breevy could also use DropBox to automatically read the TextExpander snippets so that I could easily refresh the snippet definitions in Breevy? (In an ideal world I would have round trip sync, so that what Breevy writes, TextExpander can read and vice versa, but I realizer that this might be asking too much!)
Anyway, thanks a million for making Breevy

Cool, glad you find the TextExpander support useful. ![]()

This is a good idea, and I think it can be done. I can't make any promises as to when it will be done, but your request has definitely been added to my list and I will let you know as soon as the feature has been added to Breevy. ![]()
